June–October: drier conditions

Often a useful window for wildlife-focused trips, with cooler early starts in some areas. Migration-focused Mara travel needs flexibility because herd movements vary.

November–December: short rains

Rain can arrive in short bursts and freshen the landscape. Conditions differ between regions; keep rain protection handy and allow flexible driving times.

March–May: long rains

Heavier rain can affect roads and access. Confirm accommodation operation and route suitability rather than assuming every itinerary runs unchanged.

January–February: warm conditions

Plan sun protection, hydration and time out of midday heat. Local rainfall and habitat conditions still vary.

The coast: Kaskazi and Kusi

Seasonal northeast and southeast winds influence sea conditions. Boat outings, swimming and underwater visibility need local advice, not a mainland safari weather assumption.
