Start with your own passport and route

Before paying for a trip, check the entry requirements that apply to your nationality, passport, purpose of travel and arrival date. A friend’s experience is useful context, but it cannot confirm your own eligibility. Children, residents, transit passengers and visitors arriving from another East African country may need different checks.

Use the official Kenya electronic travel authorisation service for current eligibility, exemptions and application instructions. We do not issue authorisations or guarantee approval. Avoid relying on a third-party advertisement as proof that you need a particular paid service.

Prepare before you apply

Read the official document checklist before starting. Check that the names, passport details and travel dates in your application match your documents and confirmed arrangements. Review the current passport-validity rules with the responsible authority and your airline.

If you are combining Kenya with another country, treat each border crossing as a separate planning task. Check transit rules as well as destination entry rules. Do this before fixing a flight connection or assuming a regional itinerary has one common authorisation.

Leave time and protect your information

Check the official application guidance early enough to resolve questions before departure. Keep confirmation documents available in the form requested by the authority and airline. A safari reservation and a travel authorisation serve different purposes; neither replaces the other.

Do not send passport images, application passwords or payment-card details through our general enquiry form or a social-media message. Ask how any necessary documents should be shared securely. If someone asks you to pay an unfamiliar account, verify the request through a known contact channel.

Make a final check before departure

Requirements can change between booking and travel. Check the official service again, confirm your airline’s document checks and review any onward-travel requirements for the whole journey. Keep the contact details for your airline and relevant authority somewhere you can access without mobile data.

When you enquire, tell us your intended dates and whether you are planning a Kenya-only route or a multi-country trip. That helps us discuss a practical itinerary while you complete your own official entry checks.
